Maple Country

A new season has started.  Check out what we've been up to so far:

The Maple Country Pancake Ride had four riders.  The temperature was a balmy thirty-something, and the precipitation held off.  We had a gentle breeze to keep us cool, and the local dogs stood on their lawns and barked encouragement.

We stopped for pancakes & coffee at Moore's Sugar Shack,  home of THE 2006 WNY Maple Queen.  Those pancakes always taste better after you've climbed Galen Hill... and Bixby Hill... and a couple of other hills.

Pat Danaher tested a new tactic for the last part of the ride (8 miles of downhill).  He put a gallon of maple syrup into the pack on his rear rack.  But we're not a racing club, in fact we let Dan (the new guy) lead the paceline for several miles on our return to Arcade.

A good time was had by all.
